Wow, it's been a long time since I updated. I apologize if you've written me and I haven't gotten back to you yet. I promise I will! My boyfriend and I recently got back from a month-long trip to Australia, visiting his family over the holidays. It was SO beautiful! I felt like I was in tropical heaven with all the plumeria, jasmine, hibiscus, and thousand other colorful flowers. We were in Sydney, and it was so fun getting to explore downtown (the CBD, Darling Harbour, Observatory Hill), as well as the many gorgeous beaches. Plus, it was summer. Which, to me, was bizarre since it was Christmastime. But all in all we had a great trip, though it's also nice to be home again.
I feel like I've hit the ground running in 2014, working on so many creative projects for school, clients, and some personal things thrown in here and there. I'm open for commissions right now, so if you're interested, just send me an email at email@example.com . I'm not much of one for making New Year's resolutions, but every year I strive to work harder and push myself further, but also to take care of myself and relax from time to time
Even though it's only February, I'm ready for spring. Especially for pastel and glittery EVERYTHING. Haha! I'll be adding some new, springy stuff to my Etsy store (www.etsy.com/shop/FlaxandKite) in the next week or so. With Valentine's Day coming up, I've been having fun doing crafty stuff in my down time. To me, Valentine's is less a holiday about love and romance than it is a holiday for pink, glitter, and crafts. Lovey-dovey is nice and all, but give me the glitter and no one gets hurt.
I'm working to finish my Elsa coronation gown this spring (if only fabric wasn't so expensive...), and I can't wait to wear it! I loved Frozen. Then again, faerie tale + Disney + Norwegian style + white hair, what's not to love? : D I also have a Cinderella gown from last year that I haven't finished, haha. I'm bad about not getting around to finishing my own costumes : P Mostly though, I'm enjoying painting these days. I just got a new tablet (a Wacom Intuos Pro) since the Aussie heat killed my old Bamboo. It's sooo shiny
What creative projects is everyone working on? Do you find you're influenced by the seasons, or do you just do whatever whenever?
