Huntress by Reine-Haru Huntress by Reine-Haru
Last picture of the black ranger garb, I promise : P All fabric parts/corset made by me. Antler dagger made by my dad. I was sad that I forgot my archer's brace for this shoot. This was shot for a calendar project for The League of Extraordinary Lady Nerds (thus the added leg and cleavage).

I felt like a wimp getting tired from pulling my bow so much; I've lost a lot of strength from my time in the hospital.

VERY awesome! And don't feel like a wimp - Long Bows are not easy to pull back on a frequent basis - makes it all the more impressive how they did so in the Middle Ages.

Just out of curiosity, are you, personally, able to shoot a bow somewhat accurately in that particular stance?

Good pose, but should have given her instruction on how to hold a bow. Takes away from the confidence of the picture.

And where would one acquire such a magnificent calendar?

fyi: The black ranger garb is amazing! It was the first thing that caught my eye years ago, and, next to your gorgeous appearance, the main reason I have you in my watch-list.
Always pleasantly surprised.

I really like the pose. Especially the way the ankle is flexed so radically. I feel bad for that poor wall you're about to shoot though. :)

Astonishing. I really love the position your in and the attitude or elitism that is expressed in this picture. You are very good at costume making and I'm guessing by the position of your arms that your probably a good shot as well ;)

Keep up the great work!

Usually I sell them on my etsy site: [link] but I've been quick sick recently and so haven't been sewing much. Most of what I do is custom work though, so if you're interested, just send me info of what you're thinking of and we'd work to design something together :)

That's a lot of leg. Nice boots, if you can bend them that way at the ankle, they must be very comfortable.
Was that picture done as you are drawing the bow or was it you standing still with the bow drawn? Must be hard drawing the bow in that position because you can't bring your back into the motion. And your draw hand doesn't seem to be anchored or all the way back. The draw would be easier if you could tilt the bow the other way. It's possible to do without the arrow falling off.
OK, I'm being a Mr Knowitall and I don't want to offend. (If I didn't really want to know, I would have deleted the comment.)
The picture has a lot of character. Happy to know that you're feeling strong enough to draw the bow.

The boots are quite comfortable. They're custom made from Catskill Mountain Moccasins. And it was taken as I was drawing the bow, so I'm not at full draw. And generally, in traditional English longbow archery, you cant right.

You mean you can't be at full draw. No, that's not true. You can be at full draw and it's usually recommended. It's just that the technique is a little different. You just don't stay at full draw for long as it can be tiresome. Depending on the draw weight, you may have to pull a lot more with your back. I've got 2 friends pulling 100 pound longbows and getting overdraws. One of them did have to watch a video for like 1 hour before figuring out how it was done but it is possible.
If you want to see my teacher in action, you can check out Patrick Doiron on YouTube ( [link] ).
