Finally, the first of the photos from the Tudor shoot!
This is the gown that Elizabeth I wore in the 1546 portrait of her. I made the entire outfit, which consists of a full kirtle (gold) with boning, over gown of red brocade, Tudor style French Hood, and a hoop skirt (the only thing I didn't make). I also hand beaded all of the trim (both on the gown and French hood), matching it to the origional portrait. The pendant necklace and brooch were custom made by the lovely Sapphire & Sage ([link]). I really wanted to keep all the small details that the portrait had, because I've seen so many historical reproduction costumes etc. that get the main points, but ignore all the cool little stuff (ignore it because it's rather a pain in the backside to add on).
